1. Linux/AIX engineer

The Linux/AIX engineer is responsible for installation, improving overall performance, response time and maintaining 24/7 availability of datacenters.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform physical installation and deployment of new systems
  • Provide support and proactive maintenance of existing systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software level problems and keep in touch with vendor support if necessary
  • Establish and maintain professional relationship with customers
  • Provide suggestions in the development of IT strategies and policies
  • Develop and maintain required systems documentation and processes
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Minimum Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of one-year experience in AIX/LINUX Administration and Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge of networks and related hardware and software
  • Knowledge of AIX and Linux OS and overall infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks/Network Attached Storage

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate servers, storage, tape libraries and other business equipment
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to coordinate well with other departments and personnel

Working Conditions

  • Full-time job, Mon-Fri, 09:00-18:00
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office)
  • Occasional travel overnight for training and conferences
  • Long duration of computer workstation usage
  • Available 24/7 schedule on call, via phone or other device
