Femmes Digitales’ 12th Regional Mentorship Program

02.05.2026

On 2 May 2026, Femmes Digitales – Supporting Women in TECH held the 12th Regional STARTECH Mentorship Program at Karabakh University in Khankendi.

This milestone event brought together around 70 schoolgirls aged 12–16 from Khankendi, nearby regions, and villages for a day full of technology, creativity, mentorship, and inspiration.

Organized in connection with International Girls in ICT Day, the program once again highlighted the importance of creating equal opportunities for girls in science, technology, engineering, and digital innovation across Azerbaijan.

For many participants, this was their first practical experience with modern technologies. Through the VR & Web Coding Experience, the girls explored virtual reality, used VR headsets, and learned how simple coding can turn ideas into digital products.

During the AI Adventures in Real Life session, they discovered how artificial intelligence is changing education, creative industries, and future professions. They experimented with AI tools, explored prompting, worked with creative platforms, and learned how technologies such as Sora and other AI-based solutions are opening new possibilities for learning and self-expression.

The program also featured inspiring discussions with 20 women mentors from Azerbaijan’s technology ecosystem, who shared their professional journeys and encouraged the girls to be bold, curious, and confident in choosing their future paths.

Bringing STARTECH to Khankendi was especially meaningful for Femmes Digitales. Since 2016, the initiative has travelled across different regions of Azerbaijan, helping thousands of schoolgirls discover technology through mentorship and practical learning. This year, reaching Karabakh became an important continuation of that mission — supporting girls’ access to knowledge, strengthening regional inclusion, and contributing to the development of human capital in Azerbaijan.

We strongly believe that the girls who joined us in Khankendi today are not only learners — they are future creators, engineers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and leaders who will contribute to the digital transformation of our country.

Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Karabakh University showed valuable organizational support.

Partners who contributed to making this program possible: B.EST Solutions, PASHA Holding LLC, Trendyol Group, Tufan Motors, Fominov Consulting LLC, STEP IT Academy, MACAZ, organizational partner Bloom Group, and media partner Haqqin.az.

STARTECH continues its mission: bringing technology, mentorship, and opportunity closer to girls in every region of Azerbaijan.
